Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. He is the son of Manny James along with Patty James of mixed race. He is the son of the Nigerian father and a Caucasian mother. In 2010, James graduated from Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics in 2015. James became famous when he made his screen debut as a reality television star during The Bachelorette. He was picked in 2020 to play the role of bachelor on The Bachelor's season 25, which was his first African American male lead which then aired on the show in 2021. James was the ideal candidate for the role as the man is beautiful, tall and round with a sense humor. Season ended when James chose Rachael Krkconnell to pursue the possibility of a romantic relationship with the actress. James teamed up with famous dancing star Arnold in 2021. They competed on the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold came 12th.
