Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December, 1991. He is the child of Manny James, along with Patty James of mixed race. He has a Nigerian mother and an American caucasian father. In 2010, he graduated in Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics in 2015. James became famous when he made his screen debut on the reality star on The Bachelorette. He was picked in 2020 to be the next bachelor for The Bachelor's season 25, becoming his only African American male lead which will premiere in 2021. James's height, looks and personality made him a good fit to play the role. Rachael Krakconnell, whom was his girlfriend through the remainder of the season. He joined forces with famed dancer Arnold in 2021. They competed in season 30 of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold came in 12th place.
